‘dot dot dot’ is a new project created to present music written and conceived of by saxophonist Tom Noonan and guitarist Matt Hoyne. What began for Matt and Tom as a weekly composition workshop quickly blossomed into an exciting concept for a small ensemble, as a sympathetic and complimentary writing style emerged. With a preference for swinging, high energy improvisations, balanced with a melodic lyricism and curiosity for unique harmonic forms, 'dot dot dot' seeks to blend a diverse range of influences. Just as the name suggests, 'dot dot dot’s' tunes are simple and open; leaving plenty of room for the band to add their personal voice to the music. Joined by dream team rhythm section, Tamara Murphy and Lewis Pierre, the group explores improvisational dialogue and interplay without ever leaving the essence of song behind.
