This Tuesday features sets from absolutely amazing duos April Guest & Reuben Lewis and Genevieve Fry & Esala Liyanage. Honestly it's gonna be an incredible eve!

April Guest and Reuben Lewis combine their sonic worlds for the first time to create a unique improvising duo. Their music is a blend of experimental noise, electronica, and ambient soundscapes that are simultaneously beautiful and ominous, comforting and unsettling, and ultimately a sound that is all their own.
April Guest is a Naarm based vocalist, beatboxer and composer. Her work focused on pushing the sonic capabilities of the human voice both biologically and technologically, as well as exploring how these two aspects intertwine to create meaning. Her live looping, ambient performances feature extended vocal and beatbox techniques to create deep, expansive drones and intricate percussive layers. She uses her raw voice as a foundation, combining it with technology to further explore our bodies’ timbral possibilities.
Reuben Lewis’s practice is both singular and eclectic. As an award-winning trumpeter, composer, improviser, bandleader and producer he has refined a diverse electro-acoustic language that has been lauded as “a vivid listening experience that gleams with sinister detail” (The Wire). Devised through trumpet alongside live analogue processing with pedals, his music aims to play on our expectations and unravel all semblance of familiar form, and in doing so seek to create a new musical narrative that is “beyond category” (The Australian).
