Amanda Thomson from Vancouver BC brings a program of film prints made in and sometimes about Canada. She will show a fresh print, struck at nanolab this month alongside a program of 16mm prints from the Iris Film Collective, plus a few surprises from the archive.
TC1 by Ryder Thomas White crosses the Trans Canada Highway while Lindsay McIntyre’s film Bernard Gaspé stops to observe a few moments along railway tracks in Montreal’s Mile End. Flood by Ariel Kirk-Gushowaty considers how to communicate with the natural world. Sidney Gordon’s Ashes to Ashes sublimates an agricultural landscape, and Zoe Kirk-Gushowaty’s In The Heart of the Golden West crosses the US border for a snapshot of the desert.
16mm projection. $10 on the door.
