WTF Tuesdays are back at the Green! A new series mixing up improv sessions and contemporary classical. Anything is possible!
This Tuesday features sets from Ruby Ester Mae & Parts Of Us.
Ruby Ester Mae
Ruby Ester Mae is a Melbourne based artist who makes music under ‘Clariloops’. Combining synthesised sound with clarinet and effects pedals, Ruby explores music that invites quiet introspection. Live, her loops are layered from scratch, constructed and dissolved in a single performance. With 5 releases to date and a back catalogue of performances including at Forum Theatre Melbourne and Abbotsford Convent, Ruby’s music has gained a loyal following worldwide.
Parts of Us
Parts of Us are a duo of composers and improvisers who draw from folk sensibilities, lyricism and off-kilter aestheticism. Drawing from their jazz training and love of folk music Ruby Glynn (vocals) and Adam Davidson (piano) place an emphasis on developing and evolving pieces as a single unified entity, discarding the roles of soloist and accompanist. Inspired by artists like Gillian Welch, Andrea Keller, Paul Bley and Norma Winstone their music is structural, pieces that make space for spontaneous composition bound by themes from the tune.
Parts of us are parts of you.
Music from 8:00pm // Tickets $15 (or pay what you can at the door - cash only).
