The Yael Zamir Quartet is a contemporary jazz ensemble exploring the meeting point of Brazilian jazz, folk, and fusion. Drawing inspiration from composers and improvisers such as Hermeto Pascoal, Antônio Carlos Jobim, and Egberto Gismonti, the group blends lyrical melodies with rhythmic depth and virtuosic improvisation. Led by flutist Yael Zamir, the quartet features Steve Grant on piano, Max Raz-Liebman on bass, and Ollie Shute on drums. Together, they create music that is groove-driven, texturally rich, and rooted in both Brazilian traditions and modern jazz language.
