Description:
Adam Russo is no stranger to performing songs of love and loss written by others, but following the tragic passing of his wife, Kate, just months after their wedding, he has turned to songwriting as a way to make some sense of this new reality he would never have wished for. 'Tiny Moments' represents a small collection of personal songs, rough and raw, attempting to wring some meaning out of tragedy, and hoping to capture the full depth of love inside a simple melody.
Adam Russo: Guitar and Vocals
Simon Kidd: Guitar
Tom Flenady: Double Bass
Bio:
Adam Russo is a swing guitarist from Melbourne, whose solid and propulsive rhythm playing has found him a regular seat in the engine rooms of many of Melbourne's French, Italian, and swing jazz bands. Adam's playing has taken him around Australia, including the National Folk Festival (Canberra), Strings Attached Guitar Festival (Margaret River), Ozmanouche Festival (Brisbane), and the Melbourne International Jazz Festival.
In addition to his guitar work, Adam writes new jazz standards that blend vintage forms with modern songwriting sensibilities, taking inspiration from the Tin Pan Alley songwriters of the 1930s and 40s. His forthcoming EP, 'Tiny Moments' marks his first foray into bandleading and recording under his own name.
